CALL OUT BLACK DAY on
Black Solidarity Day:

Mon 11/07/16 East Side: Marcus Garvey Park
4 PM – Community Celebration
7 PM – NYC SHUT IT DOWN People’s Monday

Black Solidarity Day that was established in 1969 in order for Black Americans to reflect on and discuss the election. We are asking Black people to “Call out Black” by:

* Refrain from attending school or going to work
* Wearing all-‐Black clothing
* Boycotting white businesses and industry
* Attend educational/cultural events addressing Black power and liberation

We are calling for this action because senseless Black deaths take a toll on our bodies, our hearts, and our psyches. We continuously see our children being poisoned, brutalize, and killed by the state. We see the pain of mothers, fathers, and lovers coping with the grief of losing loved ones. We feel this pain and are angry at a the tone deaf world that refuses empathy. Many of us organize, mobilize, and fight back while facing waves of criticism, hate, and refusals to listen to our demands for justice.

It is imperative that we take a step back to mourn and grieve collectively, as we denounce this unjust system. This is why we are calling for this national day of action. Let’s tell our employers and the world, that our pain is real. Our grief is real. Our anger is real.
